2. How Document Processing Works

AskPDF is engineered as an entirely client-side web application using modern browser technologies including HTML5, WebAssembly, and local JavaScript workers. When you drag and drop a document to merge, split, compress, or convert:

Execution happens completely within your local device's memory.
No document chunks or bytes are ever transmitted to any external backend server.
When you close the browser tab, all document memory is instantly purged by your browser.

4. Optional AI Features (BYOK)

For users utilizing our AI Document Chat and summarization tools:

API keys provided by users (such as Google Gemini or Groq) are saved exclusively to the user's private browser localStorage.
